Public Cloud IaaS
The public cloud service allows projects to be set up in public clouds with the convenience of using SSO for IAM and the costs to be recharged to a General Ledger code on a monthly basis. There is a choice of AWS or Google Cloud Platform to meet users’ needs. Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides on-demand cloud computing with a wide range of services for compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, and AI. Customers use AWS to build, deploy, and scale applications globally without managing physical infrastructure, paying only for what they use. Its strengths include broad service choice, global reach, high reliability, and deep tooling for security, automation, and compliance. Oxford users benefit from enhanced support and the OGVA discount. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) offers cloud services for compute, storage, networking, data analytics, and machine learning, built on Google’s global infrastructure. Customers use GCP to run applications, analyse large datasets, and develop AI models without managing on-premises hardware, paying for resources as needed. GCP is especially strong in data analytics, AI/ML tooling, and simple, scalable managed services.
